The Gannets come in to Little loch Broom to shelter from rough weather further out to sea. They gather in small groups in between bouts of diving you can spot there bright yellow heads bobbing among the waves.

After a couple of nights with temperatures below freezing the ice starts forming on the surface of loch Glascarnoch, it will continue to thicken over the next few days so I will be doing early morning visit to shoot the sunrise over the ice if the weather is ok. I will post the results in the next few days. 

Sunrise over the kelp forest of Wester-Ross, no Otters today. Low tide is the best time for watching then along this coast and there seems to be no shortage of food.

Sun setting over the beach in Durness. The long sandy beach sits against background of tall sand dunes, looks very peaceful and is until the RAF use an island offshore as target practice sending clouds of smoke and Debris high into the sky. Luckily this douse does not happen to often.

The softer sediments eroding away have left this large rock standing on a tiny point, makes you wonder how long it has stood like this and how much longer it will stay. Laid, Wester-Ross, Highlands Scotland.

Young Barn Owl sitting in the broken window of an old schoolhouse. The Owl was very sleepy taking no notice of hikers passing close to its perch. Barn Owls appear to be becoming more common in the area, and can often be seen flying low over open Croft land in the early evenings..

Local Otter looking for crabs in the weed, there is no shortage of food along this coast and they have a varied diet of butter fish, lobsters and a variety of larger fish as well as the odd bird.
